Day 3 – Saint Joseph, you Blessed Rascal!

Note to self: be more specific in your novena petitions!

The Lord always responds to prayers. Not necessarily the way you want, but He always answers His children.

I honestly never imagined the response that came. When I started my Saint Joseph novena oh so many days ago, I begged Saint Joseph to intercede for two things: a child and renewed adoration for the Blessed Sacrament in our Church.

Amidst this pandemic that has shuttered our Churches and halted Mass, a huge YES came on both.

I pleaded for renewed adoration for the Blessed Sacrament. Many of our churches now have adoration all day, albeit with limited access and massive social distancing rules. It doesn’t take the sting away from the loss of public Mass, but it is in fact renewed adoration for the Blessed Sacrament.

As for a child, I had in mind an actual child, but the Lord apparently has other plans. The YES is for the renewed love of the Child Jesus I’m seeing in my fellow Catholics, and for the birth of what is to come in these uncharted waters of Catholic history. I’ll admit this YES is terrifying, but the Lord’s Will be done!

So, a revision on my first line…

Note to self: be open to the Will of the Lord in your petitions!

  • Saint Joseph’s Intercessions – 2
  • Nicole – also 2, even if a bit confused and scared
