Day 43 – Mrs. Flusche’s Deep Pantry Planning Sheets

Tuesday, April 28, 2020 –

Right, now that you’ve had a couple days break from the deep pantry stuff, I’d like to re-visit that topic. #SorryNotSorry

I will not bore you with every detail about the Flusche deep pantry meal plan. Generally speaking, we have some standard fare that we rotate through. Andrew and I love Mexican and Italian, so a lot of our dishes feature those flavors. We have a great taco soup that can be made without meat, which is perfect for Fridays.

Likewise, I tend to change out our deep pantry for hearty soups during the colder months and switch back to stuff that can be eaten cold (flatbreads, quiches, etc.) during warmer months. Overall though, we have a lot of pasta type or baked dishes that we do not mind eating any time of year.

Remember, your deep pantry should be filled with meals you ENJOY eating because you WILL be eating this stuff. You should be rotating through your meals as the ingredients near expiration. When you eat one meal, make sure you replace it next time you go to the grocery store. It is also a great chance to refine your deep pantry plan or change out meals.

To help you plan your own deep pantry, I have included a 20-sheet PDF to help you get organized. Download it HERE.

Do not get overwhelmed. You do not need to sit down and do all the pages at once. Take it one page at a time. It gets easier the more you work at your deep pantry plan.

Included are sheets on:

  • Idea Planning Sheet to start talking with your family on what types of food you all like
  • A 2-week spreadsheet to layout your meals
  • Daily sheets to plan out all the ingredients you will need
  • A basic pantry staples checklist
  • A spreadsheet to track your expiration dates and keep you rotating your stock
