Day 88 – A Busted Computer, a (very) Short Story, and a Break

Friday, June 12, 2020 –

For the last week I have been writing super-fast posts in the mornings while Mr. Flusche is at court. It has been a whirlwind of typing: fast and furious. However, it was fairly easy because I had thankfully outlined the posts.

BUT…WHY?? (nobody asked)

A few days ago Mr. Flusche was helping a client at court and he precariously perched his laptop—ahem, his life, his brain, his everything!—on a small ledge in the clerk’s office. Anyhow, one bumble led to another and the darn fangly thing leapt to its death. It was a glorious swan dive into the abyss of coffee-stained floor. It was like a slow-motion, giant peanut butter covered piece of toast, strapped to the back of a cat, tumbling, tumbling, tumbling…

Anyhoo, the beloved laptop managed to hit the ground on every important button, screen, fan, and component. Yup, all at once! Everything went smashy-smashy! Many blue screens of death and many whining and smoky false-starts later, Mr. Flusche decided to buy a replacement fan and a new set of teeny-tiny tools.

And we waited…

The teeny-tiny tools and new fan arrived. Mr. Flusche replaced it and, unfortunately, nothing worked. So, Mr. Flusche decided to order a new laptop.

And we waited some more…

And we are still waiting…

In the meantime, I have run out of outlined posts. Since Mr. Flusche is using my laptop for the foreseeable future, I will be working on paper and mad typing my content when he is not using it. Unfortunately, the next series of posts was slated to be basics of Church architecture, which is a bit visual-aid heavy. EEK!

Also, Mr. Flusche works practically 24/7, which means he needs a working computer—my working computer—practically 24/7. Ahh, the life of a high-powered attorney!

Saint Expeditus, pray for us!
