Day 42 – SIX Weeks Down…Maybe TWO YEARS to Go!? Who knows??

Monday, April 27, 2020 –

Holy Moly! Has it really been six weeks? Also, has it ONLY been six weeks? For me, it feels like we’ve been at this for some time between 2 days and 2 years.

“People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it’s more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff.” (Dr. Who)

In all of this, the governor made some statements with some flashy slides in the background. Basically, there is going to be massive testing, contact tracing, and then maybe, just maybe, they might possibly let a handful of businesses open over the next unspecified timeline. Le sigh!

Anyhow, I can only assume you have run out of TV to binge watch and are here out of sheer boredom. Okay, here you go; a list of things to do:

  • Try NOT watching or reading news for at least 24-hours
  • Watch daily Mass
  • Watch previous daily Masses and catch up on some sound homilies from our wonderful Priests
  • Pray (or learn new prayers)
  • Learn prayers in a new language (might I recommend Latin!?)
  • Do that spring cleaning you talked about 5 years ago
  • Make a donate pile to give away once this is all over
  • Have a family fashion show of all your clothes and decide what to keep and give away
  • Print sudoku: http://www.printmysudoku.com
  • Print daily crosswords: http://freedailycrosswords.com/
  • Walk around your yard or go to an isolated spot outdoors (if they are open)
  • Learn a new skill or language (YouTube and Duolingo are FREE!)
  • Read a book, or re-read a book
  • Try your hand a writing a short story
  • Start a journal
  • Write your daily schedule as haikus
  • Try re-arranging your furniture and see if you like a different layout
  • Find some in-home workout routines
  • Color, draw, make tin foil statues
  • Plant a vegetable garden
  • Call a friend (or video chat)
  • Write some letters
  • Start a rambling blog of stuff nobody will read
