A story of love and Saints. But, if you’d rather just skip to the cuff links, click here. Also, if you don’t see the Saint you’re looking for, send me an email. If there is enough interest, I can place another bulk order for parts and get to work. And, yes, I have already received some requests.
Side note: I am donating 50% of the proceeds of cuff link sales to local charities.
Back to the story…
Why cuff links? Well, a few months ago my beloved husband, Andrew, approached me about finding him some Saint cuff links. Apparently he had run across a post on Facebook or some social media thing and was over the moon about a priest wearing his favorite Saint cuff links.
Anyhow, after searching the internet for quite a while, Andrew came up empty on finding the Saint he was searching for or even just basic metal cuff links. He found all sorts of fancy (EXPENSIVE!!) gold ones, tacky and nearly impossible to see color ones, but nothing like the simple medals we wear.
Likewise, my beloved is a bit of a klutz. He wears cuff links daily for work, and usually drops them a half dozen times putting them on or taking them off. The idea of paying $$$$ for something that will go clattering across our bathroom floor was a no-go for me.
So, in walks Andrew with a picture of the Saint medal he wants and ever-so-sweetly says, “Nicole, you’re crafty. Can you turn these into cuff links?”
Ehh…why not!? I have a rotary tool and time. Why not cover my office in metal shavings and silver plate. So yes, these are “hand crafted” (Andrew’s words). Yes, they took many, many, MANY hours to grind down, polish, and mount.
Since I was already making a huge (really huge!) mess, I ordered some extra Saints. I loaded the finished ones into the store, but there are more to come.
Again, the cuff links, click here. Also, if you don’t see the Saint you’re looking for, send me an email. If there is enough interest, I’ll place another bulk order for parts.
